Sedition wine is a is located in Snoma County CA.
Jigar and Josh first met during their rebellious days of youth at Purdue University. More than 20 years later, these Midwestern natives are still great friends, and for the first time, business partners. They know the importance of relationships and value quality in both life and the work they produce. That’s why they’re very selective about all the components that go into winemaking—from the farmers to the fruit and the processes it takes to put a world class Pinot Noir in your glass.
Born in Toronto and raised in Chicago, Jigar Patel has spent a decade in the Sonoma County wine industry, working with friends through several harvests before launching his successful Jigar label. At Sedition, he’s excited to work exclusively with Pinot Noir, a grape of great complexity brought about by abundant types of clones, and to start a revolution in how he approaches his craft, with his own set of rules.
A native Hoosier, Josh Bartels has always been one to buck the system and discover how to do things his own way. He jumped at the chance to work with his good friend and kindred spirit to focus solely on Pinot Noir, loving what the grape has to offer—it’s a delicate fruit that’s challenging to grow, but can yield some of the most complex characteristics of any wine. At Sedition, Josh is ready to put his ten years’ experience to the test finding the perfect balance of artistic creativity, science, and business into making wine.
